Originally, Clarence Gilyard, Jr. was set to reprise his role as Bruce Barnes in the third installment of the Left Behind film series, Left Behind III: World at War (2005). However, despite being signed on, he was ultimately unable to return for the film because of a prior scheduling conflict. This unforeseen conflict prevented him from participating in the production, leading to his absence from the movie.
His character, Bruce Barnes, was a significant figure in the preceding films, serving as a co-pilot and a key member of the Tribulation Force. The role of Bruce Barnes in Left Behind III was subsequently played by Brad Johnson.
