Where do you put acupressure bands?

Published in Acupressure Band Placement 1 min read

Acupressure bands are primarily placed on the inside of each wrist to target specific pressure points.

Precise Placement of Acupressure Bands

For effective use, position acupressure bands carefully on the inside of each wrist. The optimal spot is precisely 2 ½ finger-widths above the center of your wrist crease. This measurement should be taken between the two prominent wrist tendons.

This specific location is known as the Nei-Kuan acupressure point (also referred to as P6 or Pericardium 6), which is commonly targeted for various forms of relief, particularly nausea.

Key Details for Application

To ensure proper functionality and comfort, observe the following when wearing acupressure bands:

  • Orientation: The band should be positioned so that the button (the part that applies pressure) is facing inward towards your wrist, while the dial (if present on your band type) faces outward.
  • Bilateral Use: For maximum effectiveness, it is recommended to wear a band on both wrists.

Proper placement ensures that the gentle pressure from the band stimulates the Nei-Kuan point, which is believed to help alleviate symptoms such as nausea and motion sickness.
