Linseed cake, also sometimes referred to as linseed flakes, is the vegetable constituents of the pressed linseed from the production of linseed oil, which remain after the pressing. Essentially, it's the solid material left behind after linseed (flaxseed) has been pressed to extract its oil.
More About Linseed Cake
Contrary to what one might assume about a byproduct, these plant press residues are by no means waste. Quite the contrary, they are considered a very valuable and 100% natural feed for horses and other animals. The pressing process removes most of the oil, but the remaining cake still contains beneficial nutrients, making it a popular supplement in animal diets.
