On February 28, 1993, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) approached the Branch Davidian compound. As they neared, gunfire erupted from within the compound, initiating a violent and protracted gunfight that lasted approximately two and a half hours.
This intense confrontation resulted in significant casualties for the ATF. Beyond the four agents who lost their lives, many others sustained injuries.
