Babies typically start crying visible tears between 1 and 3 months old.

While a baby's lacrimal glands begin producing tears around 2 weeks of age, it's not until sometime between 1 and 3 months that these tears become noticeable when they cry. This is when they start shedding more of the "salty stuff."
