Is Rose Apple a Guava?

Published in Botany 1 min read

While the rose apple is not a guava, it is more closely related to guavas than to apples.

This means they belong to the same family (Myrtaceae) but are different species. Rose apples also share common names such as Malabar plum, water apple, and plum apple. Although not directly a guava, their botanical relationship places them closer to guavas than typical apples.
