How do you make brine water?

Published in Brining 1 min read

Making brine water is a simple process of dissolving salt in water.

To make brine water, follow these steps according to the "Basic Brine" reference:

  1. Choose a Container: Find a container large enough to hold both the water and the item you plan to brine (e.g., meat).
  2. Measure Water: Add the desired amount of water to the container.
  3. Add Salt: For every cup of water you use, add 1 tablespoon of salt.
  4. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the water and salt mixture until all the salt is completely dissolved.

For example, if you're using 1 gallon (16 cups) of water, you would add 16 tablespoons (1 cup) of salt.
