At the conclusion of the Rule of Wolves novel, Nina Zenik marries Hanne. Their union was made possible through extraordinary circumstances: Hanne, after accidentally killing Prince Rasmus, tailored themself to assume his likeness. This transformation involved Hanne leaving their female body behind, which then allowed them to marry Nina. Following their marriage, Nina and Hanne ruled Fjerda together.
