Yin eyes, often discussed in a Chinese context, refer to the purported ability to see both the living and the dead, or persons and ghosts. This is sometimes also referred to as "yin yang eyes."
Essentially, it's believed that individuals with "yin eyes" possess a heightened perception that allows them to perceive the spiritual realm alongside the physical one. The term is often used to describe a sensitivity or awareness beyond ordinary human capabilities. Within some Chinese-American communities, the concept can also be a metaphor for seeing beyond dominant cultural narratives and recognizing nuanced realities of racialization.
