Adding a new font to DaVinci Resolve involves installing the font on your operating system, after which DaVinci Resolve will automatically detect and make it available. Here's how:
-
Download the Font: Find and download your desired font from a reputable source. Make sure the font file is in a compatible format (e.g., .ttf, .otf).
-
Install the Font (Windows):
- Locate the downloaded font file.
- Right-click on the font file.
- Select "Install". Alternatively, you can copy the font file to the
C:\Windows\Fonts
folder.
-
Install the Font (macOS):
- Locate the downloaded font file.
- Double-click the font file.
- The Font Book application will open, displaying the font.
- Click "Install Font" at the bottom of the Font Book window.
-
Restart DaVinci Resolve (if open): For DaVinci Resolve to recognize the newly installed font, you might need to restart the application. Sometimes, simply closing and re-opening the title/text tool in Resolve is enough.
-
Access the Font in DaVinci Resolve:
- Open DaVinci Resolve and go to the "Edit" or "Fusion" page.
- Add a Text+ title or a Text node.
- In the Inspector panel (Edit page) or the Text node controls (Fusion page), find the font selection dropdown menu.
- Your newly installed font should now be available in the list. You can search for the font if needed.
