How to Remove a Device from Poly Zero Touch

Published in Device Management 2 mins read

To effectively "get rid of Zero Touch" for a specific device, you need to deregister that device from the Poly Zero Touch service. This action removes the device's association with the Zero Touch provisioning platform.

Deregistering a Device from Poly Zero Touch

Deregistering a device is a straightforward process performed within the Poly Zero Touch portal. It's important to note that once a device is deregistered, this action cannot be undone, meaning the device will no longer be subject to Zero Touch provisioning unless manually re-added.

Here are the steps to remove a device:

  1. Access Devices: From the Poly Zero Touch menu bar, locate and select the Devices option. This will display a list of all devices currently registered with your Zero Touch account.
  2. Select Device: Browse through the list of registered devices and click on the specific device you wish to remove. This action will open the detailed information panel for that chosen device.
  3. Initiate Deregistration: Within the device details view, find and select the Deregister option.
  4. Confirm Action: A confirmation prompt will appear, asking you to confirm your decision. Select Deregister again to finalize the process.

Important Note: Once confirmed, this deregistration is permanent and cannot be reversed. This means the device will no longer receive automatic provisioning settings from the Poly Zero Touch service. You might perform this action if a device is being retired, repurposed without Zero Touch, or needs to be provisioned manually.
