How to Change Your Galaxy Strap

Published in Galaxy Watch Straps 2 mins read

Changing your Galaxy watch strap is a simple process, especially with bands that feature a quick release mechanism.

You can typically change your Galaxy watch strap easily by utilizing the quick release pins located on the band.

Many newer Galaxy watch bands, such as the sport band made of a synthetic Rubber mentioned in the reference, come equipped with the newer quick release mechanism. This design makes attaching and detaching the bands straightforward, particularly "when you want to remove the band."

Using the Quick Release Mechanism

The quick release mechanism involves a small lever or pin built into the strap near the watch connection point.

Here's how to typically use it:

  • To Remove the Strap:

    1. Turn your Galaxy watch over to view the underside where the strap connects to the watch body.
    2. Locate the small lever or pin on the watch band near the lug (the part of the watch where the strap attaches).
    3. Press or slide the lever/pin inwards (towards the other side of the band).
    4. While holding the lever/pin, gently pull the strap away from the watch body. One end of the pin will retract, allowing you to release the strap from the lug hole.
    5. Repeat for the other half of the strap.
  • To Attach a New Strap:

    1. Take the new strap and locate the quick release pin.
    2. Insert one end of the pin into the corresponding lug hole on the watch body.
    3. Press or slide the quick release lever/pin inwards to retract the other end of the pin.
    4. Align the retracted pin end with the other lug hole on the watch body.
    5. Release the lever/pin. You should feel or hear it click into place.
    6. Gently tug on the strap to ensure it is securely fastened to the watch.
    7. Repeat for the other half of the strap.

This quick release system, often found on bands like the synthetic rubber sport band, makes swapping straps convenient, allowing you to easily change the look and feel of your Galaxy watch.
