The Duration of the Waco Standoff
The Waco standoff lasted for 51 days. This prolonged confrontation came to a tragic end on April 19, 1993.
The 51-day standoff concluded when law enforcement attempted to force the cult members out of the Davidian Compound by introducing tear gas into the building. During this operation, the compound erupted in fire, which was set by the cult members themselves. This marked the dramatic end to the nearly two-month-long siege.
