What are the six killers?

The "six killers" refers to six highly infectious and potentially fatal childhood diseases that have been targeted by global vaccination efforts. These are:

  • Measles
  • Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
  • Diphtheria
  • Tetanus
  • Tuberculosis
  • Poliomyelitis (Polio)

These diseases were, and in some regions still are, major contributors to childhood morbidity and mortality. Widespread vaccination programs have dramatically reduced their incidence and impact globally.
