To make your screen recording feature visible and accessible on your iPhone, you need to add its shortcut to your Control Center. This allows you to quickly start a screen recording anytime you need to.
Activating the Screen Recording Button
The iPhone's Screen Recording button might be hidden by default in the "More Controls" section, but it can be easily activated and added to your Control Center. Follow these steps to ensure you have quick access to this handy feature:
- Open Settings: Tap the Settings app icon on your iPhone's Home screen.
- Navigate to Control Center: Scroll down and tap on Control Center. This section allows you to customize the shortcuts that appear when you swipe down (or up) to access your Control Center.
- Customize Controls: On the Control Center screen, you will see a list of "Included Controls" (features already in your Control Center) and "More Controls" (features you can add).
- Locate Screen Recording: Scroll through the list of available controls under the "More Controls" section until you find "Screen Recording." You will notice a distinct green plus icon (+) next to it.
- Add to Control Center: Tap the green plus icon next to "Screen Recording." This action will instantly move it from the "More Controls" list to the "Included Controls" list, signifying it's now active in your Control Center.
Accessing Your Screen Recording Button in Control Center
Once you've followed the steps above and added Screen Recording to your Control Center, you can easily access and use it:
- Pull down the Control Center:
- On iPhones with Face ID (iPhone X and later models), swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.
- On iPhones with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.
- Press the Screen Recording button: You will now see the screen recording button, which typically looks like a solid circle inside a larger, outlined circle. Tap this icon to begin a screen recording. A three-second countdown will usually appear before recording starts.
