To change only your iPhone's home screen wallpaper, follow these steps:
-
Open the Settings app.
-
Tap "Wallpaper." This section manages both your Lock Screen and Home Screen wallpapers.
-
Tap "Add New Wallpaper." This will bring up the wallpaper selection screen.
-
Select a Wallpaper Source: Choose from options like:
- Photos: Select an image from your photo library.
- People: Quick access to photos featuring people in your library.
- Photo Shuffle: Automatically rotates through a selection of photos.
- Live Photo: Use a Live Photo as your wallpaper.
- Other Options: You'll also see pre-designed wallpapers and color options available from Apple.
-
Customize Your Wallpaper (Optional): Many wallpaper options allow for customization. For example, you can adjust the appearance of the clock and widgets or add filters to photos.
-
Tap "Add" in the upper-right corner. This is crucial to prevent changing both screens.
-
Select "Customize Home Screen." This option will appear after you select "Add" and it is the key to only changing the Home Screen.
-
Customize the Home Screen (if desired): You can change the background to a solid color, gradient, or a blurred version of your lock screen wallpaper. Tap "Done" when finished.
-
If you don't want to customize the Home Screen further: In step 7, the other option is "Set as Wallpaper Pair". DO NOT choose "Set as Wallpaper Pair", as this will apply the selected wallpaper to both the Lock Screen and the Home Screen, which is not what you want. If you don't want to customize, simply return to the Wallpaper settings, as the Home Screen will now be changed.
By following these steps, you can independently change your iPhone's Home Screen wallpaper without affecting the Lock Screen.
