Barzakh is located in a realm between the earthly world and the Hereafter. It acts as an intermediary state that maintains the distinct boundaries between these two realms.
In essence, Barzakh is not a physical location in the way we understand places on Earth. Instead, it's a metaphysical or spiritual realm. It's the boundary or partition that separates the tangible world we live in from the intangible realm of the afterlife. Its purpose is to prevent the affairs of this world from directly influencing, or being influenced by, the Hereafter, and vice versa. This allows each realm to exist within its own defined limits and characteristics.
Think of it as a waiting room or transitional zone where souls reside after death and before the Day of Judgment.
