While the Quran does outline different roles and responsibilities for men and women within the family and society, these differences do not imply a hierarchy of importance. Instead, they are seen as complementary roles that contribute to the overall well-being of the community. For example, Quran 4:34 states, "Men are the maintainers of women," which is often interpreted as men having the responsibility to financially provide for their families. This responsibility, however, doesn't elevate men above women in terms of inherent worth or importance. Women also have vital roles, including raising children, managing the household, and contributing to society through their skills and knowledge.
In essence, Islam views both men and women as equally important in the eyes of God, each with unique roles and responsibilities that contribute to the overall balance and harmony of society.
