You can change the color of various elements in Keynote, including text and object fills, using the Format sidebar. Here's how:

1. Changing Text Color:

  1. Select the text you want to change the color of.
  2. Open the Format sidebar: Click the "Format" button in the toolbar, located on the top right of the Keynote window.
  3. Go to the "Text" tab: In the Format sidebar, click the "Text" tab.
  4. Find the Font section: Scroll down until you see the "Font" section.
  5. Choose the color: Click the color well (the small square showing the current color) below the "Font" section. This opens the Colors window.
    • Solid Color: Choose a color from the available palettes or use the color wheel to select any color you desire.
    • Gradient Fill: Click the pop-up menu below the Font section and choose Gradient Fill. Choose two colors for the gradient. You can adjust the gradient direction and other settings as well.

2. Changing Object Fill Color:

  1. Select the object (shape, image, chart element, etc.) you want to change the color of.
  2. Open the Format sidebar: Click the "Format" button in the toolbar.
  3. Go to the "Style" tab: In the Format sidebar, click the "Style" tab.
  4. Find the Fill section: If the object has a fill, you'll see a "Fill" section.
  5. Choose the color: Click the color well next to "Color" (or "Fill") to open the Colors window.
    • Solid Color: Select a color from the palettes or use the color wheel.
    • Gradient Fill: Choose "Gradient Fill" from the "Fill" dropdown menu to create a gradient using two colors.
    • Advanced Gradient Fill: For more complex gradients, choose "Advanced Gradient Fill."
    • Image Fill: Choose "Image Fill" to fill the object with an image.
    • Advanced Image Fill: Choose "Advanced Image Fill" for greater control over image placement and tiling.
    • No Fill: Choose "No Fill" to make the object transparent.

Example:

Let's say you have a rectangle you want to make blue. Select the rectangle, go to Format -> Style -> Fill, and then click the color well. Select a blue color from the Colors window, and the rectangle will now be blue.

Tips:

  • You can use the eyedropper tool in the Colors window to select a color from anywhere on your screen.
  • Save frequently used colors as custom colors in the Colors window for easy access later.
  • The Format Painter tool (Format -> Copy Style / Paste Style) allows you to quickly copy the formatting, including color, from one object to another.
