If your luggage is over the limit when traveling within the U.S., you will incur additional fees depending on whether your bag is overweight or if you are checking more bags than the standard allowance. These charges apply per bag, each way.
Overweight Baggage Fees
Bags that exceed the standard weight limit but are still within the airline's maximum permissible weight are subject to an overweight fee. Note that bags weighing over 100 lbs. (45.36 kg) are generally not permitted.
Weight Range | Fee (USD/CAD) |
---|---|
51-70 lbs. (23 kg – 31.75 kg) | $100 |
71-100 lbs. (32 kg – 45.36 kg) | $200 |
Excess Baggage Fees
Beyond the standard allowance for checked bags, additional fees apply for each extra piece of luggage you check.
Type of Bag | Fee (USD) |
---|---|
3rd CHECKED BAG | $150 |
BAGS 4 TO 10 | $200 each |
