PCOM is an ultrasonographic finding (discovered through ultrasound) and can be seen in women who have ovulatory disorders and oligomenorrhea due to hypothalamic, pituitary, and ovarian dysfunction [1,2,3]. In simpler terms, it's a specific appearance of the ovaries that can be identified during an ultrasound exam and is linked to issues with ovulation and menstrual cycles, often stemming from problems with the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, or the ovaries themselves.
