The United States Air Force is the air service branch of the United States Armed Forces, and one of the eight U.S. uniformed services. It is primarily responsible for air operations, aerospace operations, and cyber warfare. It was initially part of the U.S. Army as the Army Air Forces during World War II, before becoming a separate branch in 1947.
