What is Stage 1 Jaundice?

Published in Newborn Jaundice 1 min read

Stage 1 jaundice in newborns is characterized by yellowing of the face, especially the eyes. This is the initial stage where the bilirubin levels are increasing, and the yellow color becomes more noticeable in the face before spreading to other parts of the body.

Important Note: The stages of jaundice are generally used to describe jaundice in newborns and are not directly related to the stages of liver disease.
