How do you brush your teeth?

Published in Oral Hygiene 1 min read

Brushing your teeth is an essential part of maintaining good oral hygiene. Here's how to do it properly:

  1. Choose the right toothbrush. A soft-bristled toothbrush is generally recommended for most people. You can also consider an electric toothbrush, as they can be more effective at removing plaque.
  2. Apply toothpaste. Use a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.
  3. Angle your toothbrush. Place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gums.
  4. Brush in small circles. Gently move the brush in small, circular motions for about 30 seconds on each tooth.
  5. Don't forget the hard-to-reach areas. Make sure to brush the outer, inner, and chewing surfaces of your teeth, as well as your tongue.
  6. Brush for two minutes. The recommended brushing time is two minutes, twice a day.
  7. Rinse your mouth. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water after brushing.
  8. Floss daily. Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between your teeth, where your toothbrush can't reach.

Remember, brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and flossing once a day can help prevent cavities and gum disease.
