The Pakistani flag was designed by Amiruddin Kidwai.
Kidwai's design was adopted by the government of Pakistan on August 11, 1947, just days before the country's independence. He drew inspiration from the All-India Muslim League's flag while creating a design that represented the new, independent nation. The flag incorporates a white crescent and star on a green field, with a white stripe on the hoist side.
