Currently, the Carolina Reaper is considered the strongest pepper in the world according to Guinness World Records.
The Carolina Reaper was bred by Ed Currie of the PuckerButt Pepper Company in South Carolina. It's a cross between a red habanero and a Naga Viper pepper.
