You can export a layer mask in Photoshop using the following steps.
Exporting a Layer Mask
To export the mask on the currently selected layer, follow these steps:
-
Locate the Layer: Ensure the layer with the mask you wish to export is selected in the Layers panel.
-
Access the Export Option: You can access the export functionality using either of these methods:
-
Menu Method:
- Go to the Layers menu at the top of the Photoshop interface.
- Select Export and then Export Selected Masks.
-
Right-Click Method:
- Right-click directly on the desired layer(s) in the Layers panel.
- In the dropdown menu that appears, select Export and then Export Selected Masks.
-
By using either of these methods, Photoshop will export the layer mask as a separate image file, typically in a grayscale format. This is useful for various purposes, such as compositing in other applications or making further adjustments to the mask itself.
