How to Clean a Fuji Printer?

Published in Printer Maintenance 2 mins read

Keeping your Fuji printer clean is essential for maintaining performance and longevity. A recommended method for cleaning the external surfaces involves using an alcohol-based cleaner applied to a cloth.

Recommended Surface Cleaning Method

This method focuses on safely cleaning the exterior surfaces of your Fuji multi functional device (MFD) or printer. It's a simple process that helps remove dust and grime without damaging the equipment.

What You'll Need

To perform this cleaning task, gather the following items:

  • Disposable gloves
  • Isopropyl alcohol based cleaner (with a concentration between 60% and 90%) OR Alcohol wipes
  • A clean, disposable cloth

Step-by-Step Cleaning Process

Follow these steps carefully to clean the surfaces of your Fuji printer:

  1. Ensure Power is Off: Before starting any cleaning, ensure the multi functional device (MFD) / printer is turned off. Disconnecting it from the power source is also recommended for safety.
  2. Wear Gloves: Protect your hands and maintain hygiene by wearing a pair of disposable gloves.
  3. Prepare the Cloth: Spray an Isopropyl alchohol based cleaner (60- 90%) onto a disposable cloth (never onto the MFD). Ensure the cloth is damp, not soaking wet. Alternatively, an alcohol wipe may also be used, which are pre-moistened and ready for use.
  4. Wipe Surfaces: Using the prepared cloth or alcohol wipe, gently wipe the surfaces of the printer. This typically includes the casing, control panel area (avoiding getting liquid into button crevices), and paper trays (when empty). Avoid excessive rubbing or pressure.

Regularly cleaning the surfaces of your Fuji printer helps keep it looking good and functioning properly.
