You can deposit a maximum of £1,000 in cash per day into a Starling Bank account. For personal and joint accounts, there is an overall annual limit of £5,000 per calendar year for cash deposits.
Cash Deposit Limits
Starling Bank sets clear limits for cash deposits to ensure smooth and secure transactions. These limits apply to deposits made into both personal and joint accounts.
Deposit Type | Limit | Additional Information |
---|---|---|
Daily Cash Deposit | £1,000 | This is the maximum amount of cash you can deposit in a single day. |
Daily Coin Limit | £250 | Out of the daily £1,000 limit, no more than £250 can be in coins. |
Annual Cash Deposit | £5,000 | This is the total maximum amount of cash you can deposit into your account within a calendar year. |
Fees for Cash Deposits
While you can deposit cash within these limits, a fee may apply:
- A charge of 0.7% is applied to all cash deposits that exceed a cumulative threshold of £1,000. This means that once your total cash deposits reach £1,000, any subsequent cash deposits will incur a 0.7% fee on the deposited amount.
For example:
- If you deposit £500, no fee is charged (as it's below the £1,000 threshold).
- If you then deposit another £700 (totaling £1,200 deposited), the first £500 was free, the next £500 (to reach the £1,000 threshold) is also free. The remaining £200 of this deposit would be charged 0.7%, equating to £1.40. All subsequent deposits up to your annual £5,000 limit would also be charged 0.7%.
