To download content from Max (formerly HBO Max) for offline viewing, follow these steps:
-
Sign In: Open the Max app on your phone or tablet and ensure you're logged in to your account. If you're having trouble signing in, refer to Max's help resources for troubleshooting.
-
Find Something to Download: Browse the Max library and locate the movie or TV show episode you want to download.
-
Download: Look for the Download icon (usually a downward-pointing arrow). Tap the Download icon to begin the download process.
- No Download Icon? Not all content is available for download. The availability depends on licensing agreements and other factors. Check that you are on a mobile device (phone or tablet), as downloads are typically not supported on web browsers or TV devices.
-
Monitor Download Progress: The Download icon will change to reflect the download progress. You'll see a progress bar or a percentage indicating how much of the download is complete.
-
Cancel Download (if needed): If you want to stop a download in progress, tap the Download progress icon. This usually gives you the option to cancel the download.
Important Considerations:
- Subscription Plan: You'll need a Max subscription plan that supports downloads. Ad-supported plans may not allow downloads.
- Storage Space: Ensure your device has sufficient storage space for the downloads. Large files, like movies in high resolution, will require more space.
- Download Limits: Max might have limitations on the number of titles you can download at one time or the number of devices on which you can have downloads.
- Download Expiration: Downloads may expire after a certain period, especially if the content's availability on Max changes.
