How do I turn off the touchscreen on my Dell?

Published in Touchscreen Control 2 mins read

You can disable the touchscreen on your Dell computer through the Control Panel. Here's how:

  1. Right-click on the Start menu icon. This usually looks like the Windows logo.

  2. Select "Control Panel". If you don't see "Control Panel", you may need to search for it.

  3. Tap "Pen and Input Devices" in the Control Panel. If you don't see this directly, look for "Hardware and Sound" first, then you should find "Pen and Input Devices" or something similar. Note that depending on your Windows version and Control Panel view (Category, Large icons, or Small icons), the exact wording and location may vary slightly. If you're using Category view, it may be located under Hardware and Sound.

  4. Tap the "Touch" tab. This tab manages the settings for your touchscreen.

  5. Disable the touchscreen. Look for an option like "Use your finger as an input device" or "Enable touch input." Clear the checkbox next to this option to disable the touchscreen. If there is no checkbox, there might be a button to disable or a dropdown to change the mode. Choose the appropriate option to turn off the touchscreen functionality.

After following these steps, the touchscreen on your Dell computer should be disabled. To re-enable it, simply repeat the steps and select the checkbox or enable the relevant option.
