Beating the Ropalolyst in Warframe is a tactical encounter that requires precise execution of specific steps involving both your Warframe and Operator abilities, alongside environmental interaction. The fight unfolds in repeating phases, where you must strategically use the arena's structures to damage the boss.
Understanding the Ropalolyst Encounter
The Ropalolyst is a formidable flying boss found on Jupiter, characterized by its reliance on the unique capacitor towers scattered around its arena. Success in this battle hinges on your ability to quickly transition between your Warframe and Operator, manipulate the environment, and deal burst damage to its weak points.
Phase 1: Overcharging and Downing the Ropalolyst
This initial phase focuses on using the environment to create an opening for attack.
- Maneuver to a Capacitor Tower: Begin by positioning yourself near one of the tall, glowing capacitor towers in the arena.
- Lure the Giant Laser: The Ropalolyst will fire a powerful Giant Laser attack. Position yourself such that this laser strikes the capacitor tower. This action will charge the tower, making it glow intensely.
- Deplete Shields with Operator Void Beam: Once the tower is charged, the Ropalolyst becomes vulnerable. Quickly switch to your Operator and use your Void Beam to attack and deplete its shields.
- Mount the Ropalolyst: After its shields are down, the Ropalolyst will become temporarily stunned and descend. As your Warframe, jump and mount the Ropalolyst to take control of its movement.
- Steer Onto a Supercharged Tower: While mounted, steer the Ropalolyst directly onto the supercharged tower – the very tower you used to lure the laser onto. This will cause a massive energy discharge, knocking the Ropalolyst to the ground and transitioning to the next phase.
Phase 2: Destroying Synovia and Activating the Charger
Once the Ropalolyst is grounded, you have a brief window to inflict damage on its weak points.
- Destroy Exposed Synovia: With the Ropalolyst downed, immediately target and destroy the exposed Synovia (glowing weak points) on its body using your Warframe's gunfire.
- Activate Terren Charger Terminal: After successfully destroying a Synovia, you have a critical 3-second window to activate a nearby Terren Charger terminal. These terminals are typically found on the ground close to where the Ropalolyst fell. Failing to activate the terminal within this timeframe will allow the Ropalolyst to recover, requiring you to repeat Phase 1.
Repeating the Cycle
The battle against the Ropalolyst is a cycle of these two phases. After successfully completing Phase 2 (destroying a Synovia and activating the terminal), the Ropalolyst will recover and become airborne, resuming Phase 1. You must repeat these steps, targeting a new Synovia with each successful cycle, until all its weak points are destroyed and its health is depleted.
